Fishing!

The kids wanted to go fishing again so we headed to Joe's to see if we would have any luck.  We tried for a while with no luck so Jay decided he would go up and start cooking dinner.  Before he left he helped Mason throw is hook out with a worm on it.  Mason kept asking me if he could bring it in yet.  Finally I told him he could.  So he started reeling it back in.  He tells me he thinks he has caught something.  I didn't really think he had anything, but junk from the bottom.  Mason kept trying and wasn't getting it in so Tyler decided he would try and help him.  Then Tyler starts telling me he thinks Mason really did catch something.  Jay came back and started helping them get it in and there really was a fish on it when they got it out.  The funny thing about Mason catching a fish was the way he caught it.  Mason's hook was hooked on to someones old line that had broken and the fish had actually gotten tangled up in the old line.  Pretty crazy but he was so excited about it.
Mason didn't really like holding the fish for the picture because it was all slimy.
Drake loves to sit and throw rocks into the lake which makes it hard for the boys to catch anything.
Sometimes Elly is such a little tomboy.  She is very cute.
Tyler wanted to catch a fish so bad after Mason did.  He kept trying and trying.  He finally said he was only going to throw it out two more times and then we could go up and eat.  The next time he threw it out he caught a fish.  He was pretty excited! Elly was sad she hadn't caught a fish so Tyler let her reel his in.  She was so happy and it was so nice of him to let her do that.  When they got it in he had a little chub on his line.
Elly didn't like holding it at all.  She cried the whole time I took the picture and until she had the gross fish washed off of her hands.
Drake didn't like the fish either.  He we brought it over to show it to him he got pretty scared.
It was a successful fishing trip.  Both of the boys caught a fish and that is what makes it worth it.  The kids had a lot of fun even though we weren't up there very long.

Jay turns 35

For Jay's birthday we did the best birthday cake.  He told the kids he wanted chocolate twinkes.  So we got chocolate ones for him which made it really easy for me.  The kids loved putting the candles in them and getting a turn to blow them out.  The bad thing was he thought they were sick and now we have a box of them.
Jay did get a turn to blow the candles out eventually.  Happy Birthday Jay!  We love you.

Pretty girl

Elly has loved all the hand me downs she gets from her cousins.  She has started putting together the best outfits.  The more sparkles the better.  One day her friend Ava had let her borrow her skirt so she put it with this awesome outfit.
If she wasn't so cute maybe the outfit wouldn't look so cute.
She keeps me smiling anyway.

A Sunday drive

Every now and again we like to drive to Joe's Pile, as Mason calls it.  We decided this week would be a good time to go up there.  Jay walked Drake out on the dock and jumped up and down on it.  Drake thought it was pretty funny.
Since none of the kids brought clothes to get wet in they were really trying to keep their clothes dry. We told them anyone who got wet had to walk home.
Drake loved throwing the rocks in the water.
The kids all got the biggest rock they could find and threw it off at the same time to try and make a big splash.
Drake with his pile of rocks we gathered for him so he could just stand there and throw.
Jay and the kid jumping on the dock.
The kids decided it was easier to take their clothes off and play in their underwear then to try and stay dry.
They all carried a pretty big rock down the dock to throw in the water.  They were pretty excited about the big splash it made.
We had a great time.  The kids all went home with wet underwear, but they had a lot of fun together.  It was the perfect Sunday drive.

This girl!

This little girl is something! Every time I turn around she is wearing something different.  She changed between clothes and swimming suits all day.  Every time she puts on a swimming suit she thinks we need to turn the water on.  Luckily sometimes I am able to get her to be okay with out it on.
You have to love this look!
The funny thing about when she changes into her swimming suit is she always forgets to take her underwear off.
Elly and her best friend Ava are so much a like.  They are double the trouble when they are together.

All-star Richfield Tournament

Tyler got chosen to play on one of the all-star teams this year.  He was so excited about it.  I didn't want him to do it because it takes up the whole summer.  We really did have fun going to his things and watching him play.  The first tournament we went to was in Richfield.  I took the kids and went down on Friday and Jay stayed to work.  The team did really well.  They won both of their games.  Tyler did a pretty good job.  He looked so cute out there too!
This was his first time up at bat in the first game.

Tyler played in the left field, short stop and first base the most.

Tyler sliding home.
Drake had fun at the games and did pretty good both days.  The second day Jay was able to come with us.  Elly wanted to stay and go to the Princess Tea party with her friend Ava so she didn't come with us.
Tyler's team with the coaches.
Mason loved every minute of the baseball games and in between games.  He had fun playing wall ball with some of the kids.
These two boys did great sitting at a baseball field for two days.
On the way home Saturday night we hit a deer in our car coming into Castle Dale.  It ripped the mirror off of the drivers side and scared us pretty good.  I was glad Jay was driving us home this night.

Princess Tea Party!

My friend was so nice take Elly to the Princess Tea Party since Tyler had baseball in Richfield.  Elly had a lot of fun getting all dressed up like a princess.  Amanda did her hair for her.  These girls looked so cute.
Jay kept teasing Elly that she wasn't suppose to drink tea at the tea party.  She was getting worried about it.  Lucky for her it was just apple juice.
What a cute little princess!
The girls were having a great time until the witch showed up which made all the little girls cry or almost cry.
The girls got to decorate a mirror with whatever they wanted to.
Elly's finished mirror.
All these cute little girls are some of the girls from our ward.  Hopefully they are always good friends.
I think she is still scared of the witch.
The girls with Snow White.
They had a great time minus the witch being there.  I am glad I have a good friend that could take her for me.
