Kids

I took some pictures of the kids the other day since I haven't been very good at getting them in to have them done.  When I take their pictures they definitely show me their personality versus when I have someone else do it for me.

 Tyler 6 1/2 years old.

 Elly 22 months old.  I think it is funny when they think you can't see them because their eyes are closed.

My birthday party

    For my birthday this year my friend wrote a murder mystery dinner party.  She put in a lot of work on it and it turned out great.  It turned out really fun and it was fun to see everyone in their costume.  It was a Western murder mystery.

 We had dinner and dessert while we were trying to figure out how got killed and who did it.  I was an old lady and she was the one that died.  We had a great time and some good laughs.  Thanks Amanda for the great birthday party.



Jay's spike hunt

Jay and his dad went out early the first day of their hunt and were back with one by four that afternoon.  They both looked dead tired but at least they got one.  The kids were excited to see what Jay got so they stopped by to show them before taking it to the butchers.

 They were trying to get Elly to touch the elks tongue, but she wouldn't do that.  She would barely touch it's head.

Halloween weekend

The weekend that Rodney got home was my little brothers first playoff game so we went up to watch it.  The boys have  had fun watching their uncles play football this year.  It has made our boys so they play it all the time and no matter where we are.  Here are some of the kids watching the game from the back of the truck.

 Tenor after he sacked the quarterback.  Tyler and Mason loved that and still take about how funny it was.

 Number 80 is my other brother, Brock.  The boys like watching for the boys to come on and off the field.

 Of course they have to have a football game of their own with their cousins.

 This was the beautiful sunset we had that night.  We had to get a picture of it to show to all the people that try and tell me Wyoming isn't beautiful.  I don't believe them no matter what it looks.  I love Wyoming and miss it everyday.

 The next night was Halloween.  My sister was so good to paint each of my kids faces for me.  They all looked so cute.  Tyler wanted to me an Indian again, which was nice we didn't have to buy any new Halloween costumes this year.

 Mason was a cute little skunk.  Everyone loved his costume.  He had to tell Grandpa not to kill him though, since Grandpa killed a skunk this fall.

 Elly was our little monkey and let me tell you this she is a monkey all the time. 

 The kids out trick or treating with their cousins.  The kids had fun even when it started to rain.  Elly didn't like it the first few houses but once she figured out that she was going to get candy at every house she loved it.  She would have lasted longer then the boys if I wouldn't have had them all stop at the same time.

We had a great weekend but we did miss having Jay with us.  He would have like to see how Elly did her on her first night trick-or-treating.

The count down finally ended

My kids have been so excited for their uncle Rodney to get back from his mission.  They have been counting down the until he was going to be home and we would get to go to the airport.  They started counting down the days at thirty days until Rodney would get home.  Every morning Mason would wake up and say 28 days or 13 days, whatever the number was that we were on.  It was fun to see how excited they were to see Rodney again.  They have been so proud of the missionaries that we had out and still have out.  In Primary they talked about missionaries and Mason was very excited to let them know he had a aunt and uncle that were out.

This day was a pretty exciting day.  It was my birthday and my brother was coming home so I was pretty excited for my dread 30th birthday because we would get to go pick up my brother.

Here are some pictures of some of the grand kids that were waiting and waiting for uncle Rodney.  It was fun to look at the pictures and see how excited and happy we all were.

 Jay giving Rodney a hug.  These two served in the same mission.  So that has been a fun thing.  Our boys want to go to the same mission as Rodney and their Dad.

 The group of us that were at the airport to meet Rodney.  We are missing one brother and his family and two sisters.

It was fun to see him again and hear about his mission.  The boys are excited to go again in January and meet my sister when she gets home from her mission.  Mason is already asking how many more days.  It could be along two and a half months.

Halloween traditions

Each Halloween we try to carve pumpkins with the kids.  They each get to pick there own and what they want carved on the front of it. This was the first year all my kids were willing to clean out their own pumpkins, which I was really surprised by because I didn't think that Elly would do it but she did.  We had to take their shirts off because they were getting junk all over on the sleeves.

 
 
 
 Mason fell asleep while Tyler and Elly were doing their pumpkins so he did his after they were done.  I was surprised that I was able to get all the pumpkins carved in less then an hour and a half.  We ended up doing these the last day we were home until after Halloween, but Jay was there to light them for the kids.

 I think the kids pumpkins all turned out really cute and they were pretty easy to do this year. They each picked their pumpkin and what would be on it.

 The next day we had sometime to make sugar cookies, frost and sprinkle them before we had to leave.  We didn't have time to take them around to the people that we usually do, but we did get them to a couple of the people.  This is the other fun thing I like to do with my kids at Halloween.  They like to cut out the cookies and put the sprinkles on.  I end up having to frost most of the cookies because doing the sprinkles is a lot more fun.

While visiting family

When we were up visiting my family my brother-in-law shot his elk and all the little kids wanted to be in a picture with it.  I guess all of them but Elly.  She didn't like it at all.  The other kids were pretty excited about it though.
