Bees game and Fireworks

We have been wanting to get to a Bees game all summer.  We really wanted to go to one when they were doing fireworks.  Their fireworks are really good, especially compared to what you get around us.  The kids were all really excited to finally get to go watch a baseball game.  This time we decided to sit on the grass.  The kids liked it because they could run around a little, but I think I would rather be in seats.  We got there early enough that the kids were able to watch them warming up.  They like watching the pitchers get warmed up.
Elly likes the treats the most when we go to anything.
Jay took a little nap while we were waiting for the game to get going.
The kids had fun playing together while we watched the game.
Drake's poor little nose looks pretty bad after burning it last night on the sparkler.
After a ton of different tries I finally got my camera on the right setting to get some good firework pictures.
Some proof I was actually with my family at the game, to bad they are always bad pictures.
Jay with the kids down on the field.  They let us go down on the field to watch the fireworks.  Their grass is amazing!  I actually thought it might be fake for a minute until I looked closer.
After the fireworks they let the kids run the bases.  Tyler and Mason both ran the bases and thought it was pretty cool.  After they both got a gift certificate to Spaghetti factory for a free dinner.
We got home late but had a really fun time together with our family.

4th of July

This year we were actually around for the fourth of July. Since we didn't go camping we went to the parade.  Elly loved this float with all the royalty on it.  The boys were more interested in picking up the candy.
The kids had fun watching the parade and since we weren't by a lot of people they actually were able to have fun.
Drake really had fun.  He has finally kind of figured out the whole parade thing and picking up candy.  Normal he would get one piece and want to just eat it and wouldn't really worry about another piece until he was finished.
After the parade we took the kids to the movie.  We watched "Despicable me 2."  We all loved it!  Before we went into the movie we knew we had a flat tire but knew we would miss the movie if we tried to fix it before so we decided to just fix it afterwards.  When we got out of the movie it was very flat.  Jay got the tire changed with the help of some people we know that had also been at the movie.  After we headed back home but made a stop in Huntington to watched the fireworks.
I only had my phone to try and get pictures with so they aren't very good.
Since we have been playing baseball all summer we still had our camp chairs and blankets in the biggie.
When we got home the kids wanted to do sparklers.  Jay even got in on the action.  This year I grabbed the wrong sparklers so they were really junky and not near as fun as the normal ones.
The boys still tried to light everything they could find on fire from bugs to garbage.
These junky sparklers made Elly a little nervous because they let off big pieces of hot paper.
Drake only did a couple before he ended up burning his nose with one and then was sad and wouldn't touch them anymore.
We had a fun fourth of July going from one thing to the next.  I think the movie was probably everyone's favorite part of the day though.

Crazy Best Friends!

Elly and Drake are pretty funny. These two have days were they get along so well and then other days were they don't even play together.  Elly can get Drake to play almost anything she wants him to.
They love to have me take their picture when they are being nice to each other.  Elly also loves to put on her play make-up and it is a little scare how she puts it on.
Drake just loves to be crazy!  He has a hard time just smiling for me when he wants a picture taken.  Holding still is also a hard thing for him to do.  I normally have to call him back a couple of times to get a picture that isn't just a blur.

Tyler's Baseball at Juab

Tyler's baseball team finished off the summer with a tournament at Juab (Nephi).  I forgot my camera for this one so I only have a couple of team pictures that I took with my phone.  This group of boys really had a lot of fun playing together.  Tyler was the only boy from our town to play with these boys but he has really like getting to know most of these kids.  He really had fun with the coaches too.  Mason got to be a sub this weekend too and the boys on the team were really good to him.
All of these boys younger siblings at one point were out past the out field yelling, "Here we go Emery here we go" at the top of their lungs.  It was really funny and cute.
These boys ended up having a pretty good season.  The coaches are talking about maybe doing some fall baseball which would end up being about five weeks.  They kids are excited about maybe doing that.
We really had a fun time following these kids around and watching them play ball all June.

Little League Baseball playoffs

Mason was on a traveling team this year and loved every minute of it.  He had some of his friends on the team which made it really fun.  Tyler also played on this team when his team wasn't playing. They played a couple of games in Helper this year.
This was their team, Back row: Coach Kyle Larsen, Coach Jason Ward, Easton Nielson, Luke Justice, Chase Huggard, Tyler, Wade Stilson, Tylee Norton, Gannon Ward, Coach Johnny Nielson, Coach Jared Norton.
Front row: Mason, Kade Larsen, Crew Savage, Braxton Ward and Creek Sharp.
Mason hanging out in the dugout.  He was always happy to be at the field.  Mason loves baseball!
Tyler had fun playing on this team too.  He did a lot of pitching and first base on this team and some catching.
Mason's team won this little tournament and got some pretty cool little trophies.
Tyler's other team ended up having a game in Price the same night so he missed the last game with Mason's team and went and played with his team.  Mason had to grab Tyler's trophy for him.
These cute little were so excited they won!
Mason and his cousin Wade. They had fun playing ball together.
After Mason and Tyler played a game together and then each of them had one more with their teams they were so tired.  This picture so how they looked on the ride home.  They were out after being in the car for a couple of minutes.
I love how Mason is still holding his trophy and Tyler's is right there on his lap.  They had so much fun and have just really loved getting to play a little extra baseball beyond just county ball.  It has been fun to watch them get better with just a little more practice.

King of the Lake

We finally had a weekend where we didn't have baseball games and we had no where else to go so we decided to go to the mountains and fish.  The boys were so excited to go fishing.  We ended up going to Pete's hole.  The kids had so much fun.  We started off going to the far side of the pond because there were so many people up there fishing.  We caught quite a few fish there.  Mason did the best there.  It was fun to watch them fish because you could see the fish come right up to there line and bite it.
Tyler has gotten pretty good.  We hardly even have to do much with him and he can cast it pretty good too.
Mason was pretty funny when he caught his fish he wouldn't even touch them for a picture, Jay had to do it for him.
Tyler really only needs help getting the hook out of the fishes mouth.  He learned how to bait his own hook while we were up there this time.
When Elly and Drake weren't busy playing in the dirt they wanted to get their picture taken with every fish that was caught.  Elly didn't like the way her hands were all slimy after holding the fish but at least she dared to hold it.

Drake was a little nervous around the fish, but he did dared to touch it finally.
Later in the day when some of the people ended up leaving we moved over to the other side and had good luck there too.  I say good luck because I personally think that is all fishing is, just luck.  Tyler did better on this side of the pond.
Drake played so hard that he ended up falling asleep for a while which was actually kind of nice.
Jay spent most of the day just trying to keep the hooks baited and getting the hooks out of the fishes mouths.
Mason finally decided holding the fish wasn't so bad.  Mason was even able to do it with a smile on.
Towards the end of the day the boys decided they needed to make up a competition.  We decided that they had until the sun was all the way behind the mountain to catch as many fish as they could and they were able to count all the fish they had got all the way to land today.  When they started this competition Tyler was a couple of fish behind Mason, but he was sure he would be able to catch him since he was on a roll.
While we were gone about half way through the day Elly started getting a fever.  She got back in the "biggie" and slept for a while.  When she woke up she brought all the blankets and came out to lay on the ground by us.  She spent the rest of the day under the blankets trying to stay warm.
We had to take the little grill with us so we could make some delicious hot dogs.  Mason eats them really good when we are in the mountains or desert but not really anywhere else.
Drake had the best time laying in the road in the big holes playing.  He spent a couple of hours here.
I loved this picture of Tyler just relaxing and fishing with the sun shining on the water.  It was just a great day.
Every now and again Drake would take a break from playing in the road and come show us how dirty he was getting.  He got his face pretty dirty.
Mason was pretty cute too when he was hanging out fishing.
The kids always think it is so fun to take pictures of me. I don't love it but I guess at least we have proof I was there.
Finally at the end of the day Jay was able to take a few minutes and fish for a few minutes.
By the time the sun was finally behind the mountain the boys and a winner of their competition, it ended up being a tie between the two boys.  We had decided before the competition ended that whoever won would get to be called "King of the Lake" until we went fishing again.  So they both get to be called "King of the Lake."
It was fun to have a weekend to go and spend some time with the kids in the mountains and just relax.  We all had a great time!
