More fun at home

When the boys are gone to school we have lots of fun at home.  There is never a dull moment here with Elly and Drake.  These two are always on the go with some kind of plan that is going to make a mess.  Today they were turning my living room into a kitchen and their bedroom.  They had my pots and pans, hot pads, dish towels, chairs up to their table(the piano bench) and a few blankets too.
They even ended up making a tent in there with the blankets and chairs.  They had so much fun and actually cleaned it up when they were wanting to go and do something else.
These two have so much fun playing together.  It is fun to listen to them from the other room.  Most of the time they are best little friends. Drake is always sad when Elly goes to play with a friend.  He walks around the house calling her name and asks me all the time where she is.  It is fun to see them be friends.

Spring break

It took some talking to get these kids to want to go anywhere for spring break.  We didn't have time to go anywhere really.  We decided to go to SLC on Friday night.   Saturday morning we went to Heber City and watched my brother, Rodney, rope.  He did two events while we where there.  He did really good and that night ended up getting second in the team roping.  After watching him rope we went to Provo and rode Front Runner.  The kids have seen this train when we have been up there before but we have never had time to take them on a ride.  The kids where all excited to go except Mason, once we were on he was as excited as the others were.  Jay didn't ride with us because we were just going to go one way.
When we got to our stop the kids were looking for Jay.  They thought we were going to beat him to the train stop.  He was there waiting for us.  When we went to get off the train Mason jumped out and I was right behind him carrying Drake and the door shut on my leg and Drakes arm.  I was trying to get my leg out of the door and Drakes arm when it started to pull away.  Elly and Drake started to cry because the train was taking us away from our ride.  I was so  glad Jay was there to grab Mason since he was the only one who made it off.  I would have been going crazy if he was by himself there.  Jay ended up meeting us at the next stop and the kids were all happy again.  We learned our lesson from the last stop so we were all right there waiting for the doors to open at the next stop where we met Jay.  Tyler thought it was funny!  It was funny after.  I am just so glad Jay was there to get Mason.
We stayed in Lehi the next night.  Jay took the kids swimming because I had a headache and when they got back we dyed the Easter eggs.  That was kind of different since we have always been home for Easter, except one other time.
The kids all love dying the eggs.
After we got the eggs all dyed it was time to fine a spot and settle down for the night.  The kids were all tired from going all day.  We had also gone to Boondocks and the new outlet mall where all the boys got new shoes.
Easter morning the kids woke up to find that the Easter bunny had found them even though they weren't home.  He brought them each a new swimsuit, kite and a bag of there favorite candy.
Drake loved finding the eggs, especially the ones that had some money in them.
When we got home the kids wanted to try and fly their kites.  The wind was blowing pretty good so we thought they would fly really good.  It took us forever to get them up.  We finally got them up.  Tyler flew his for at least forty-five minutes.
We had a fun weekend even if it wasn't too far away or very long that we were gone.  It was just fun to get away for a little while.

Smart kids

I love they way these kids think.  So many of the things they do reminds me so much of the things we would think of.  I came outside the other day to find this.  I asked the kids to pull Drake in the wagon because he wanted a ride and they decided this was a much better way to give him a ride.  He didn't want to do it at first but after a couple of minutes he decided it was a lot of fun and he actually enjoyed it.
He sat in that wagon as happy as could be.  He had his blanket, his milk and someone to pull him.  It doesn't get better than this.  The kids have all been really good to take turns on Elly and Drakes little razor.  They all love it!  I charge the battery every night because they drive it so much.  I am sure this is how Drake will be getting his wagon rides in the future.
Tyler was the brains behind this whole thing.  I loved it!  I like to see what they will come up with when they are playing.
They spent the whole day outside playing.  We really live in a great little spot where my kids can play without the worry of cars.

Last county wrestling

This was the last night of the county wrestling.  Here are some pictures of Tyler and Mason wrestling that last night.

Mason with some of the kids in his group.
This is Mason's friend Monty.  They wrestle each other at practice pretty much every night and most of the practice.  It has been good for Mason because Monty know his moves pretty good.
Drake wanted to wrestle the boys every time they came over by us.  The people by us though he was pretty funny because he was so serious about it and they boys were so good with him.
This was Tyler group of boys that he wrestled with that night.
Tyler after it was all over with his medal.
My tough little wrestlers.  Mason always asks me, "Mom what if I don't take first"?  He always wants to be first and I have to let explain to him every time  I don't care what place he gets as long as he does his best.  He isn't buying that he still wants first all the time.

A fun cousin!!

When we go visit our cousins it so nice for Elly to have a cousin like Ainslie.  She loves to dress up, dance, sing and do all the crazy things Elly loves to do too.  They do pretty good together most of the time.  It is pretty fun to watch them.  We loved these outfits they had on.  It is a good thing aunt Camille as a bunch of great dress up clothes for these two girls to play with.  They go through them all and try everything.
I think the hair really makes these outfits amazing!
Cute little girls!  It is fun to see them having fun with each other,  I love to see how excited they are when we get there,  It is really cute.

Gunnison wrestling

We had so much fun wrestling with our boys this weekend.  They both did so good.  Tyler has been wanting to stack a kid so bad.  He was finally able to get it.  He was so excited!
I don't know what happened to me but I didn't get any pictures of Mason wrestling this weekend.  I did however get pictures of Elly and Drake wrestling.  Drake is loving this wrestling as much as Tyler and Mason.
Al  the kids we wrestle with are fun, nice kids.  They all cheer each other on and have been so  good to each other.  The love to check out each others medals too, which is pretty cute.
Mason ended up taking first place at this tournament.  I don't know where the fourth place kid is but there was on in fourth.  He waited and waited for them to say his name.  He even jumped the gun once and had another kids first place medal on him.
Tyler also got first place.  He was one of the last weights to be called but he just sat there waiting for his medal.  I was proud of him.  The last couple of weeks he has come to these tournaments and just wrestled so hard.  He has been really fun to watch.
These are the cute little first graders on our traveling team.  They all wanted a picture taken of them with their first place medals.   Monty, Mason and Easton.
This is our team we traveled with this year.  They are a fun bunch of boys.  At this tournament we had 15 boys and we came home with 14 first place medals and 2 second place medals.  One kid was in two brackets so that is why we have one extra medal.  These kids all wrestled so hard this weekend.  It was so fun to go and watch them.  The other nice thing is Elly has fun playing with their sisters and I have really loved getting to know the parents of these kids.  This was probably one of my favorite sports we have done with our kids.
The boys with their first place medals.  So proud of them and how well they wrestled.

After they finished wrestling we  headed to Cokeville.  The kids have been wanting to go and see their cousins so bad and I had a cousin coming home from her mission, so we went to hear that.

Drakes 2nd birthday

My cute little baby turned two years old today.  It kind of makes me sad.  He has been so fun.  He is so cute and funny.  We have all really enjoyed him. The kids are always saying how cute he is too.  He is just very easy going.  He wants to do everything all by himself.  When he gets mad you can talk him out of way easier then any of the other kids.  He is so good to say he is sorry.  He plays good with all of the kids too.
For his birthday he got a baseball helmet.  He is always wearing the boys.  The best part is he always wears it backwards and it looks so funny.
He got some cookies and yogurt because he is always eating those.
When he was opening this last present he was pretty funny.  As soon as he saw the picture on the box he started saying, "My scoo, my scoo."
He was so excited about this present.
He didn't like having to wait a few minutes while Jay put it together for him but once it was done he was happy again.  Tyler asked Drake so nicely if he could try it.  Drake turned to him and said, "No my scoo."
For his birthday cake we had an ice cream roll.  The kids didn't like wait until later that night to do Drakes birthday, but Jay worked away from town that night and we needed to wait for him.  They did survive though.
Happy Birthday to our cute little boy!  We have loved having Drake in our family.  Maybe I have chilled out a little after four kids and now I can enjoy them more then I did when I wanted everything to be perfect.  He is a fun, happy, cute, crazy little boy.  We love you so much little guy!
